International Support Service

Do you regularly travel abroad for work or vacation? Even then, you want to be sure you will receive the best possible medical care. When it comes to emergency care, it is best to arrange it directly through your insurance provider’s emergency hotline. We are here to assist you with practical matters and offer tips on things like filing claims.

You may also find yourself needing non-emergency care during your stay abroad. Even in such cases, you would like to start the process of selecting a treatment plan as soon as possible. In these situations, you will have a lot to deal with, both medically and practically. That is when your Private Health Advisor is there to offer advice and support.

Medical

If you have questions or concerns about treatments or recovery, we offer additional advice for certain treatment areas. Through our network, we have several partners with whom you can schedule an (online) consultation with a medical specialist at short notice, if desired, so you can make well-informed decisions on the spot.

Practical

Medical care often involves a lot of administrative details both while you are there and back home, whether for yourself or your travel companions. Sometimes that is not what you want or are able to focus on at that moment. Then we are here to help for example, by booking accommodations or transportation. Or, upon your return to the Netherlands, arranging temporary support at home.

Administrative

Afterward, you will face a lot of administrative tasks. We are able to support you with claims and communication with your health insurance provider. If you are still abroad, we can provide you with information and assistance to make clear arrangements with healthcare providers and gain insight into any potential additional, non-covered costs. We offer this support for both acute and non-acute situations.

Emergencies

In an emergency, your first step is to contact the emergency hotline of your travel or health insurance provider as soon as possible  the one that covers your medical expenses abroad. Next, you can reach out to your Private Health Advisor for practical assistance. While you focus on your recovery whether it is for yourself or a family member your Private Health Advisor can help you as much as possible with the practical and administrative hassles involved. This also applies to recovery after returning home.

No emergency, but practical help

“While visiting family abroad, my client’s wife was involved in a serious accident. She was unable to walk and was not allowed to fly, but she wanted to return home for further care and recovery. However, returning to The Netherlands proved to be difficult. That is where I made a difference for them; thanks to our partner network, I was able to provide him with concrete advice on how they could safely return together. This saved them a great deal of research and time time he was able to spend with his wife and family before their return to The Netherlands.” - Amy, Private Health Advisor
